Collegiate scholarship winners through the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association have been announced.
Seven students are getting $5,000 each from $29,000 in scholarship funds. Students Derrick Koehn and Cara McWilliams were awarded the Myron P. “Mike” Dean Cheese Industry Student Scholarship for being affiliated with dairy manufacturers and processors.
Macy Cook, Natalie Curtis, and Riese Thornberry were given the WCMA Supplier Student Scholarship for working in the dairy industry.
Lastly, the Brian Eggebrecht Student Scholarship is given to support students going into the skilled trades in the dairy industry.
Awardees include Wesley Nelson and Neil Venhuizen, who both attend Southwest Technical College in Wisconsin.
The scholarships are funded by the Championship Cheese Auction held during the annual CheeseCon.
