By Filed Under: Ag Education, Corn, News, Wisconsin
The Wisconsin Corn Foundation has created a new scholarship to honor a past executive director.
The scholarship is named for Bob Oleson, who served as executive director of the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association and the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board for seventeen years and was also a founding director of the United Soybean Board. He also worked to promote agriculture through the U.S. Feed Grains Council, National Corn Growers Association Board, and National Corn Development Foundation and was also a big supporter of Ag in the Classroom and biofuels. Oleson encouraged other farmers to get involved as he helped expand programming and membership in the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association.
Oleson was 83 when he passed away April 1st. His funeral was April 7th in Palmyra, Wisconsin.
