Women in Auto Care Awards Record Amount in Scholarships – Brake & Front End

Women in Auto Care, part of the Auto Care Association, announced a record $448,745 in scholarships and tool kits awarded this year. This marks the sixth consecutive year of increased awards since the program’s inception in 2004.
The scholarship initiative, designed to support young women pursuing careers in the automotive aftermarket, has distributed nearly $2.5 million in cash and tool kits since its start.
Manufacturers and suppliers provided essential tool kits to scholarship recipients, the organization noted. Contributors include ATD Tools Inc., Autel, BH Sens, Big Time Products, Bosch, Carlyle Tools, Clore, CRC, DHC, Dorman, EZ Red, FedPro Inc., FJC, Great Neck Saw, John Dow Industries, LDS Industries, Lincoln, Lisle, Lucas Oil, Mahle, Mechanix Wear, Milwaukee, Niterra, Omega USA, PB Blaster, Power Probe, Stanley Black & Decker DeWalt, Sunex and Topdon.
In addition to scholarships and tool kits, 82 scholarship recipients received an industry swag box with items representing the automotive aftermarket sector.

NAPA has appointed Jeff Watchko as its new senior director of category management for tools and equipment.
Watchko brings more than 14 years of merchandising experience, including a decade at the Home Depot. There, he served in roles such as merchant, senior merchant and divisional merchandise manager.
Jennifer Lewis will play a key role in advancing the association’s engagement on regulatory matters impacting the motor vehicle supplier industry.
ASE said the reason for retiring these tests is that “changes are needed to meet industry evolution.”
ASE says it will use the survey results to guide and update the content of automobile task lists and tests soon.
Federated’s 2025 “Seas the Day” program offers VIP trips, gear and nearly 2,000 prizes.
The event is scheduled for September 16-18.
