Wooster Community Hospital (WCH) Auxiliary is saluting its scholarship winners and volunteers. Formal recognition came during WCH’s 2025 Annual Awards Banquet held earlier this summer, according to a community announcement.
The WCH Auxiliary awarded one-time, $1,500 scholarships to Aleah Daugherty of Orrville High School, Molly Green of Central Christian High School, Kaitlyn Graves of Norwayne High School and Kaydance Moran of Triway High School.
Skylar Henry received the third-year Helen Garvin Scholarship, while Laney Hunsberger was awarded the fourth and final year. The scholarships are renewable based on academic performance and personal essays.
The hospital also recognized 43 volunteers and 19 prayer partners with pins and service bars for their contributions.
Carla Redick, the hospital’s volunteer coordinator, raises funds for the WCH Auxiliary through various activities, including flower sales, a Christmas cookie sale, golf outings, a clay shooting event, the annual Lighting of the Trees and Decorate a Tree events and WCHA gift shop sales. The proceeds help purchase new transport vans for free medical transportation for patients, as well as furniture and essential items for the hospital.
Scott Boyes, the hospital’s CEO and president, expressed gratitude for the volunteers’ time and commitment.
