The Youngsville High School Alumni Scholarship Board of Trustees awarded eight Youngsville High School seniors $2,500 scholarships to attend schools of higher education. Those students are:
– Kennedy Allen, daughter of Jennifer Lauger and Brian Allen, attending Jamestown Community College studying Early Childhood Education;
– Michael Carnahan, son of Michael and Pennie Carnahan, attending Virginia Tech studying Mechanical Engineering;
– Konnor Eck, son of Kristi Steuart and John Eck, attending Pitt-Bradford studying Pre-Veterinary Medicine;
– Madilynn Johnson, daughter of John and Tamara Johnson, attending Jamestown Community College studying Business;
– Talon Mesel, son of Chad and Amanda Mesel, attending Southeast Lineman Training Center studying Electrical Lineman Program;
– Gavin Olson, son of Brandon Olson and Rebecca Mason, attending University of Pittsburgh at Bradford studying Mechanical Engineering;
– Kiana Stanbro, daughter of Gregory and Amy Stanbro, attending Mercyhurst University studying Psychology;
– Taylor Tuttle, daughter of Gary and Krista Tuttle, attending Penn State University studying Information Sciences and Technology.
Created in 1985 by the Youngsville High School Class of 1950, the scholarship fund has awarded 241 graduating Youngsville High School Seniors more than $271,000. Funded entirely by memorial donations and proceeds from its yearly golf tournament, the fund will continue to offer yearly scholarships to students residing in the current Youngsville High School attendance area.
