YORK — Two York High School seniors have been awarded scholarships from the York Police Association Scholarship Fund, receiving $3,700 each to support their higher education.
The scholarship recipients are Maxine Adelson, who will attend Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and Fabiola Crespo Cortes, who will study at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham, Maine. Both students applied through York High School and submitted essays as part of the selection process.
This year marks the first time the scholarships have been funded through the York Police Association Golf Tournament, which also benefits the 100 Club of Maine, which supports families of fallen first responders.The York Police Association, a nonprofit organization, provides charitable donations to local programs, including youth sports, Special Olympics, and other community initiatives.
The 2025 York Police Association Golf Tournament is scheduled for Sept. 8 at Cape Neddick Country Club, with proceeds benefiting the 100 Club of Maine, the York Police Scholarship Fund, and the YCSA “Out in the Cold” Fuel Fund.
