MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) – Ten high school students were awarded $1,000 scholarships by Zolman Tire on Thursday for demonstrating hard work in their community.
The seniors from schools across Michiana were selected by a panel of five judges for the Zolman Student Leadership Award.
Each had at least a 3.0 grade point average and a story that embodies what the award is all about.
“We had 370 applications for our scholarship, and if the society could read the scholarship applicants and the caliber of the student regards of their a 2.5 or a 3.0 or valedictorian; what these kids have gone through, persevered through, their passion, their energy, and their hope for the future; America is in good hands,” said Nate Zolman, the owner of Zolman Tire.
This is the sixth year the scholarships have been handed out to students. All told, Zolman has awarded $60,000 in scholarships.
