The Zonta Club of Midland offers scholarships to women of all ages pursuing career goals that will positively impact the status of women. This year’s recipients, recognized at the May meeting, are Laura Kent, Baleigh Johnson and Stephanie VonFintel.
The scholarships of $5,000 each are for use at any post-secondary educational institution or for cost of certification, or for vocational education. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, work/life skills, community service/extra-curricular activities, GPA/GED, honors/awards and references.
Funds to support the scholarships are raised by the annual Zonta Homewalk in December. Zonta Club of Midland is a service organization of business executives and volunteers working together to advance the status of women in Midland and around the world and is part of Zonta International.
