Olentangy Schools is proud to announce that all 22 academically talented seniors who received the distinguished honor of National Merit Semifinalist last fall have advanced to finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Competition. The scholars are part of an elite group of 15,000 finalists representing the top one percent of U.S. high school seniors.
“We are incredibly proud of these 22 National Merit Finalists,” shared Superintendent Todd R. Meyer.
“This achievement reflects both their commitment to educational excellence and their pursuit of personal achievement, inspiring all of us to continue striving for greatness. To become a finalist, semifinalists and school officials must submit a detailed scholarship application, including their academic record, participation in school and community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, employment, and honors and awards received.
All National Merit Scholarship winners (Merit Scholar® awardees) will be chosen from this group of finalists based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments. Olentangy Schools will recognize the National Merit Finalists, at the April 24 Olentangy Schools Board of Education meeting.
