DETROIT LAKES — On Tuesday, May 14, three senior Detroit Lakes High School golfers, Hanna Knoop, Laura Syltie and Nick Tobkin, each received a $1,333 Growth of the Game Scholarship sponsored by State Farm Insurance – Nick Christenson Agency.
The senior golfers were selected based on their commitment to the game of golf and their representation of the values and habits that have been adopted by Growth of the Game. The values are: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance and courtesy. The habits are: energy, play, safety, vision, mind and family. These three individuals represent those qualities to a very high degree.
Knoop will attend Augustana College in the fall to major in nursing and play on the women’s golf team. Syltie will attend North Dakota State University majoring in accounting and finance and Tobkin will attend the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota and major in finance.
