Four receive scholarships: Four Atlantic Cape Community College hospitality management students have earned scholarships from the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority Foundation and the Greater Atlantic City Concierge Association.
The scholarships awarded to sophomores Lilly Guest, Charlotte Johnner, Clive Morgan and Renata Riesenberg will assist each of them with tuition and expenses at Atlantic Cape.
“We are incredibly proud of these outstanding students who represent the excellence and dedication of our hospitality program at Atlantic Cape,” said Chef Joseph Sheridan, director of the Academy of Culinary Arts and Hospitality. “Their hard work and passion for the industry have earned them this well-deserved recognition, and we look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future.”

ACUA gives: Employees of the Atlantic County Utilities Authority were recently recognized for their donations through the New Jersey Employees Charitable Campaign. Pledges from ACUA employees totaled $55,884 — the second highest amount contributed in the state, behind only Rutgers University.
“It’s incredible that with just over 300 employees, ACUA is recognized as the second largest donor in the state. This achievement reflects the commitment and compassion of our team,” said ACUA President Matthew DeNafo. “Our employees dedicate themselves to serving the community through their work, and they go above and beyond by choosing to support others in need through their contributions.”
The NJECC provides state and local municipal employees the opportunity to contribute to a multitude of charities via payroll deduction. This is the eighth consecutive year the ACUA has participated in the program.

Millville Model Congress stars: The Millville High School Model Congress Team secured five leadership roles for the recent Model Congress at Rider University. Competing against 33 high schools and 72 students from across the state, the Millville delegation earned five of the top positions, more than any other school in attendance.
Evelyn “The Whip” Nelsen was selected as the Democratic Party leader, while Jayvin “The Moderator” Rempel earned the title of Republican Party leader, marking a rare bipartisan sweep of top party leadership by a single school.
Three additional team members secured key committee chairmanships:
● Ta’sir “The Show” Blakeney – Chairman, House Ways and Means Committee
● Jonah “The Answer” Smith – Chairman, House Judiciary Committee
● Peter “The Surprise” Ballurio – Chairman, House Environmental Committee
“This is an extraordinary achievement for our team,” said Dani Lalli, Millville Model Congress adviser. “Their dedication, preparation and leadership skills were on full display, and they proved that they are ready to lead at the highest level in this competition.”
