HURON COUNTY – The Huron County 4-H Council will be awarding up to four $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Students who have made outstanding achievements in 4-H work and are planning to attend college/ trade school are eligible to receive this scholarship. Students may pick up an application from their high school guidance counselors/ FFA advisors, or the MSU Extension Office at 690 N. Port Crescent, Bad Axe Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and open during the noon hour. Completed applications must be submitted to the Huron County MSU Extension Office in Bad Axe or emailed to verelle7@msu.edu before 4 p.m. Monday, March 3. Postmarks and/or late entries after 4 p.m. will not be accepted! Applications are now available for the Huron County Dairy Promotions Scholarship. High school seniors may pick up an application from their high school guidance counselors and/or FFA advisors, or from the MSU Extension Office, 690 N. Port Crescent, Bad Axe. These scholarships are awarded to Huron County students with high moral character, initiative, and high scholastic achievement; who have made outstanding achievements in FFA and/or 4H work; who have been accepted as students at an educational institution; and who plan to major in agriculture or a related field. Several scholarships are awarded annually to Huron County’s outstanding ingoing freshmen students from the Huron County Dairy Promotions Scholarship Fund. In 2024, three scholarships were awarded. Since the scholarship began, approximately $87,550 has been awarded to Huron County students. Completed applications must be submitted to the Huron County MSU Extension Office at 690 N. Port Crescent, Bad Axe, MI 48413 or emailed to verelle7@msu.edu before 4 p.m. on Monday, March 3. Postmarks and/ or late entries after 4 p.m. will not be accepted! The primary source of funding for the Huron County Dairy Promotions Scholarship has been the Huron County Dairy Promotion Committee.
