From Anchorum Health Foundation:
SANTA FE — Applications are now open for a new scholarship, offered by Anchorum Health Foundation, that helps nurses achieve Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degrees. Nurses with MSNs can help fill gaps in the northern New Mexico regional healthcare system, particularly in underserved and primary care settings.
“Scholarships like these are a win-win for our communities,” Anchorum President/CEO Jerry Jones said. “They empower nurses to advance their education without the burden of financial stress and they strengthen the entire healthcare system by addressing workforce gaps, improving patient outcomes, and helping to ensure access to care for all.”
The Anchorum Master of Science in Nursing Scholarship will cover 90% of the annual program cost (up to $18,000 a year). Applicants must reside in New Mexico and be pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing or have been accepted to a program. To maintain eligibility, scholarship recipients must maintain good standing in their program with a minimum 2.5 GPA required for renewal. Scholarship recipients must commit to applying their degree expertise in northern New Mexico or a Tribal serving organization or clinic for a minimum of two years following degree completion.
“Hospitals and clinics across northern New Mexico are experiencing critical staffing shortages, particularly in advanced practice nursing roles,” said Christina Campos, retired hospital CEO and Anchorum board member. “The Anchorum Master of Science in Nursing Scholarship will help us keep talented nurses in our rural communities while increasing the capacity of our facilities to provide high-quality care.”
The New Mexico Foundation will administer the scholarship and will be accepting applications. For more information and to apply, go to: Anchorum Health Foundation Master’s in Nursing Scholarship – New Mexico Foundation
