Florida State University offers out-of-state tuition waivers for academically excelling international undergraduate students in F-1 visa status. Waivers range from 1 to 12 credit hours per semester, depending on the applicant’s FSU GPA. Awardees are responsible for paying the in-state portion of tuition and fees for waived credit hours.

Applicants must:
Students already receiving full tuition waivers or scholarships that consider them in-state for tuition purposes are not eligible. Partial awards may be available for students with partial tuition scholarships.
Selections are based on academic merit, specifically the student’s GPA. A committee reviews all applications, and awards range from a minimum of 1 credit for a 3.5 GPA to a maximum of 12 credits for a 4.0 GPA.
All international students in F-1 visa status meeting the criteria are eligible, regardless of country of origin.
The award applies to tuition fees at Florida State University’s main campus in Tallahassee, Florida.
The number of awards and credit hours varies each semester based on the number of applicants and their academic performance.
The tuition waiver is granted for one semester only. Eligible students must reapply each semester.
