Law enforcement agencies around the area have shared a scholarship opportunity for students.
The Badger State Sheriff’s Association has announced its third annual Memorial Scholarship, giving out four $1,000 scholarships.
These scholarships are available to any student pursuing a career in law enforcement or a public safety-related field.
It is open to all college or technical college students in the field statewide who will be attending college during the fall semester later this year.
The Memorial Scholarship was created to honor and remember fallen law enforcement officers, and this year the program is honoring St. Croix County Sheriff’s Deputy Katie Leising who was killed in the line of duty in 2023.
The deadline to apply for one of the four scholarships is March 28th.
Those interested in applying can do so online by visiting the Badger State Sheriff’s Association’s Facebook page.
