Beckman Catholic High School in Dyersville held their annual Academic Awards ceremony on Friday.
Students were awarded academic letters for meeting GPA requirements. Several students were also recognized as scholarship recipients for two separate awards given out annually at this ceremony.
This year’s recipients of the Sister Mary Clare Miller Award are Jeremy Braun, Maggie Domeyer, Leah Funke and Cody Hageman – all members of the Class of 2026. This scholarship is voted on by the faculty members of Beckman Catholic and each recipient receives a $500 scholarship. They are asked to choose students who demonstrate superior academic efforts, respect, responsibility, and integrity.
Recipients of this year’s Top of the Class Scholarship were Jeremy Braun and Leah Funke, both members of the Class of 2026. The Class of 1997 Top of the Class Scholarship is dedicated to the memories of Christa Deutmeyer and Dean Funke and provides a partial, $500 scholarship to be put towards their senior year tuition at Beckman Catholic for the recipients. The scholarship is awarded to two students whose spirit closely resembles that of Christa Deutmeyer and Dean Funke in areas of character, service, leadership, and academics.
