GREENFIELD – Thousands of dollars in scholarships are available for high school seniors planning to pursue further education, and scholarship applications are available now.
Several Hancock County clubs, businesses and community foundations are offering scholarships to the Class of 2025, with a few scholarships also available for returning college students and adult learners.
Here’s a list of local scholarships and resources:
Community Foundation of Hancock County: Scholarship applications for 2025 graduating seniors, college students and adult learners are open through the Community Foundation of Hancock County.
More than $650,000 is available in CFHC local scholarships. The Foundation administers more than 100 endowed scholarship funds, each with a unique purpose. Many of the scholarships were established by donors to honor or remember a loved one. Learn more and apply at celebratehancock.org/students/scholarships. Greenfield Central School Foundation: There is $71,000 in scholarships to be awarded in 2025 for high school seniors through the GCSF, which connects the community to the classroom. Included is the Jane Marilyn Haines Foster Scholarship, at $8,000 and renewable; the Patricia Sue Pope Scholarships, two at $2,000 a year and renewable; the Shirley Gibbs Just Imagine Scholarship, two at $2,000 a year and renewable; the Kathleen Dowling Legacy Scholarship, at $1,000; the Jeff Harris Barber and Beauty School Scholarship, at $1,000; and the Lovell Family Scholarship at $2,500 a year and renewable.

NineStar Connect: There are 15 $2,000 scholarships available through NineStar Connect for high school seniors in the Class of 2025.
The graduating senior must live in a NineStar-member household, have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.75, and fill out an application by Feb. 7. Visit ninestarconnect.com/scholarship to apply.
McCordsville Police Department: Mt. Vernon High school seniors and graduates pursuing careers in criminal justice or public safety are eligible for scholarships through McCordsville Police Department.
There are three scholarships available, totaling $2,000. The application deadline is March 15. Learn more by emailing [email protected].
Hancock Health Foundation: Students pursuing healthcare careers might consider a scholarship through Hancock Health Foundation. Those interested in nursing, nutrition, healthcare technology or one of the dozens of other healthcare professions may be eligible for funding through several local scholarships, listed at hancockhealth.org/about/foundation. Upsilon Tri Kappa: Tri Kappa, a service sorority, seeks Hancock County applicants for state scholarships of $1,000 to be awarded for the 2025-2026 school year. Past applicants and recipients may also apply.
Scholarships are available for academics (must be a full-time college sophomore, junior or senior); fine arts (full-time college sophomore, junior or senior studying art, art therapy, music, dance, drama or music therapy); the Twanette Nutter Fleming Music Scholarship (for a full-time college sophomore, junior or senior studying music education); vocational (a high school graduate enrolled in a vocational, technical or trade school or certification program); Key Scholarship (applicants had an interruption of education at least five years but are enrolled for 2024-2025 and plan to enroll in at least six credit hours).

Indiana Extension Homemakers Association: There are three $500 scholarships open through the Indiana Extension Homemakers Association, for those who are wanting to advance their careers/continue education; high school graduates going to a trade school; or graduates attending a traditional college. 21st Century Scholars: Indiana’s 21st Century Scholars program is an early-college promise program designed to make college more affordable for students. Eligible students who meet requirements receive a two- or four-year scholarship that pays up to 100% tuition at an eligible Indiana college or university. Visit learnmoreindiana.org/scholars.
Scholarship fundraiser event: Support scholarships for the Greenfield-Central High School Class of 2025 in an upcoming event.
Silent Auction for Senior Scholarships is coming up at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31 at the Greenfield-Central vs. Pendleton Heights boys’ basketball game at GCHS, 810 N. Broadway St., Greenfield. The program is hosted by the senior class.
