Business notes: Dayton/Columbia County Washington Fund gives $53500 in grants, scholarships – Walla Walla Union-Bulletin

The Dayton/Columbia County Washington Fund recently awarded $53,500 in grants and scholarships to area organizations.
The awards included: $1,000 to the YWCA; $5,000 to the Walla Walla Senior Center; $500 to the Tri-State Steelheaders; $1,500 to the Touchet Valley Arts Council; $10,000 to The Club after school program; $500 to Skyline Adventures; $5,000 to Project Timothy Christian Aid Center; $2,000 to Prescott Joint Park & Recreation District; $4,000 to the Dayton Chamber of Commerce; $2,500 to the Columbia County Rural Library District; $3,000 to the Columbia County Community Network; $5,000 to Columbia County; $400 to the Blue Mountain Resource Conservation Department Council; $500 to the Blue Mountain Humane Society; and $600 to Blue Mountain Heritage Society.
In scholarship funding $10,000 was awarded to local students Elsie Mann, Grace Trump, Joshua Reser, Justina Abrahamson, Kameryn Tupling, Logan Berg, Madison Richardson, Parker Brown and Wyntr McCauley.
The Milton-Freewater Chamber Downtown Alliance has been awarded a $10,000 Oregon Community Foundation grant.
The grant will be used for general operating support, helping the downtown alliance for its daily operations that do not entice sponsorship.
The Walla Walla Valley Chamber of Commerce recently became a partner association of Business Health Trust, an employee benefits provider for small and mid-size businesses in Washington.
Chamber of commerce members can now join the more than 1,000 employers in Washington that use Business Health Trust.
“This partnership aligns with our mission to support local businesses and improve the economic vitality of our community,” chamber CEO Arlene Alen said. “By offering our members access to top-tier benefit solutions, we are helping them attract and retain talented employees, ultimately contributing to their growth and success.”
