The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is now accepting applications for its “Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Promoting Food Security and Economic Development” training programme. This initiative, targeting young entrepreneurs aged 18-45 from Egypt, Iraq, and Lebanon, aims to empower participants with essential entrepreneurship skills, particularly in food security, to foster economic growth and tackle food insecurity.

Programme Details:

  • Duration: June 2024 – March 2025
  • Application Deadline: June 30, 2024
  • Delivery Mode: Online (English)
  • Cost: Free, funded by the Government and People of Japan

Programme Phases:

  1. Phase 1 (July-October 2024): Online training on entrepreneurship fundamentals and agribusiness.
  2. Phase 2 (October-December 2024): Advanced training for top participants to create solutions for food security challenges.
  3. Phase 3 (December 2024-March 2025): Development of business blueprints with mentorship for the top performers.

Eligibility

  • Ages 18-45
  • Good English skills
  • Commitment to the programme
  • Experience or interest in agribusiness, food security, or entrepreneurship
  • Available 2-4 hours per week
