On March 16, Coudersport Area School District in partnership with the Coudersport Area School District PTSA held its third annual scholarship fundraiser. This year’s fundraiser was hosted at the Coudersport American Legion Post 192.
The Legion’s event room was donated for the evening. Attendees were able to purchase tickets that included a buffet dinner catered by Frosty Hollow or were able to attend and participate in only the raffle and auction portion of the evening. All attendees enjoyed musical entertainment provided by Dana Daisley.
The night was a success overall earring $15,000 for student scholarships. The district has increased its earnings from the night by $2,500 each year with year one earning $10,000 and year two earning $12,500. The district’s goal is to be good stewards of the money and ensure that they can not only offer the current scholarhsips in perpetuity, but also expand scholarship opportunities as more money is raised. The district is currently offering the following scholarships as a result of funds earned at events over the past three years:
Coudersport Area School District is already looking forward to next year’s event and another opportunity to raise money for their students to continue their education, or get off to a positive start in their career as a straight to work scholarship winner.
