The Chemical Coaters Association International Finishing Education Foundation (CCAI FEF) is now accepting applications for the 2025 Matt Heuertz Scholarship Program. During the past several years the program has awarded more than $100,000 to students who are currently enrolled in programs that could lead to a career in the finishing industry.
The scholarship program named for the first executive director of the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) aims to attract new talent to the industrial finishing and surface coating technologies industry. Under the umbrella of the Matt Heuertz Scholarship Program, this year marks the debut of the Bob Warren Award, a $2500 scholarship supported by Sames. The award was established to recognize Bob’s endless contributions and dedication to the industry. He was a CCAI National Board member and officer, CCAI West Michigan Board member and officer, CCAI FEF Board member and officer, and along with his wife Carole, is CCAI FEF’s first Founding Member.
“Supporting the educational initiatives of students pursuing academics that could lead to a career in finishing has always been a passion of Bob’s. I can think of no better way to recognize Bob than a scholarship award in his name,” shares Sheila LaMothe, CCAI FEF executive director.
Qualified candidate applications will be reviewed by the CCAI Finishing Education Foundation Board of Directors. Award amounts vary, are determined by the Board of Directors, and are sent directly to the recipient’s academic institution.
