Auburn, CA – Chapa-De Indian Health is proud to announce that the April Moore Memorial Scholarship is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year, with exciting new opportunities for students pursuing careers in healthcare. This annual scholarship, originally $1,000, has been expanded to offer awards of up to $2,500 for students planning to enter the healthcare field. The scholarship honors the legacy of April Moore, a long-time Chapa-De Board President who dedicated her life to advancing American Indian communities. Moore served on the Chapa-De Board of Directors for 26 years.

The scholarship is open to American Indian students who are currently enrolled in or planning to attend college, technical school, trade school, or vocational training programs. Eligible applicants must be from or have attended school in Placer, Nevada, Sierra, Sacramento, or El Dorado Counties in California.

Scholarship applications are due by February 28, 2025, and winners will be announced in May 2025. The Chapa-De Board of Directors carefully reviews applications and selects recipients based on their academic achievements, community involvement, and potential to make a positive impact. Recipients are chosen annually, and previous applicants are encouraged to reapply if they continue to meet the qualifications.

Chapa-De Indian Health (Chapa-De) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that was established in 1974 and operates community health clinics in Auburn and Grass Valley, California. Chapa-De offers comprehensive primary medical care, dental and orthodontics, behavioral health counseling, psychiatry, nutrition and health education, prenatal care, pharmacy, and optometry services.
