Chick-fil-A announced it has awarded over $27 million in scholarships to restaurant team members and community leaders thus far in 2025.
A press release reveals this is the fast-food eatery’s largest annual investment in educational funding to date. This milestone reflects Chick-fil-A’s commitment to education and supporting the career goals of team members, as well as those making a positive impact in their communities.
Thirteen restaurant team members received $25K in funds, while over 15,000 team members across the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada received scholarships of up to $2,500. Additionally, $300K was awarded to 12 Chick-fil-A Community Scholars, nominated for their community leadership and commitment to service.
“Chick-fil-A is deeply committed to investing in the remarkable futures of both Chick-fil-A Team Members and community leaders,” said CEO Andrew T. Cathy, who surprised each of the $25,000 team member recipients in person to present their scholarship awards.
Cathy’s statement concludes, “The growth of scholarship giving at Chick-fil-A reflects our belief in the power of education to transform lives. We are honored to support these exceptional students as they pursue their educational aspirations and look forward to seeing how they make a positive impact in their communities.”
Chick-fil-A isn’t just known for its signature chicken sandwich and customer service — it’s also widely recognized for its long-standing commitment to giving back to its team members. From generous scholarship opportunities to leadership development and career growth programs, the fast-food chain has consistently invested in the people behind the brand.
One of the most significant ways the company supports its employees is through its scholarship programs. Since 1973, the company has awarded more than $215 million in scholarships to over 122,000 team members to help them pursue their educational goals.
Each year, Chick-fil-A supports its team members through the Remarkable Futures Scholarship program by awarding scholarships of $1,000, $2,500, and $25,000. These scholarships are open to employees at all restaurants.
Recipients can apply the funds toward tuition at any accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school. Eligible team members greatly benefit from this financial assistance, which, notably, is paid directly and upfront to ease the burden of school expenses.
Plus, there is no requirement for hours worked or length of service required to apply for these scholarships. Team members just have to be a full- or part-time restaurant employee in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico to apply for or receive a scholarship.
Chick-fil-A also gives back through its employee care and emergency assistance programs. Team members often receive support during personal or family hardships, natural disasters, or unexpected medical situations.
Moreover, Chick-fil-A’s commitment to work-life balance is reflected in its policy to close all locations on Sundays. This gives team members time to rest, or spend time with loved ones.
