DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – The Davenport Central Hall of Honor awarded eight Hall of Honor scholarships to current students.
The Hall of Honor is privately funded by donations from alumni, community members, and local businesses.
According to officials, the Hall of Honor scholarships are $1,500 and are awarded to students that meet high academic and community standards.
The Central Hall of Honor was started in the 1980s under the leadership of Principal Don Fisher.
While honoring Davenport Central High School alumni, the Hall of Honor has awarded nearly $200,000 in scholarships to Central graduates.
According to officials, since its creation, 200 scholarships have been awarded, in addition to the eight scholarships awarded this year.
