JACKSON TWP. – SoL Harris/Day Architecture is taking applications until April 4 for the John E. Harris III Architectural Scholarship. This annual, $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a Stark County high school senior student entering an accredited school of architecture as a freshman this fall. Applications are being taken until April 1 for the Stark County Dairy Promoters Scholarships. Stark County high school seniors, students who are already in college, and students who have won these scholarships in the past are eligible.
The student must be a resident of Stark County; be pursuing a two- or four-year college-level degree or graduate degree in the fields of Dairy Science, Large Animal Veterinary Medicine, Human Nutrition or Food Science; have a 2.5 high school grade-point average; and have demonstrated financial need.

NORTH CANTON – Walsh University’s Deville School of Business will host the Business Club scholarship luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Barrette Business and Community Center. The luncheon will feature Bill Fagan, president of Business Operations for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Rock Entertainment Group.

The guest speaker will be Tracy L. Carter, second vice chair of Stark State College’s Board of Trustees and system director of government relations at Summa Health.
Carter will share insights from the works of Wall Street executive Carla Harris and how they shaped her leadership journey, guided her success, and helped her navigate challenges in the health care sector.

CANTON – Malone University’s Woolman Lectures will feature Philip Cary of Eastern University in a two-lecture series at 7 p.m. April 1-2 in the Johnson Center for Worship and the Fine Arts, Room 106. The lecture topic for April 1 is “Who is God? The Nicene Creed, Part I.” The topic for April 2 is “Who is Jesus? The Nicene Creed, Part II.”

Cary is professor of philosophy at Eastern University and Scholar-in-Residence at the Templeton Honors College. He has been philosophy editor of Christian Scholars Review and is editor-in-chief of Pro Ecclesia: A Journal of Catholic and Evangelical Theology. His specialty is the history of Christian thought, with particular focus on Augustine and Luther. He has written several books.
