SIOUX FALLS — Members of the Ty Eschenbaum Foundation Board of Directors invite high school seniors and past graduates of South Dakota high schools, who have been diagnosed with a form of cancer at any point in their life, to apply for their Survivor Scholarship Program.
The enrollment period is open now and closes on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025. Students can apply by visiting https://www.tyefoundation.org/survivor-scholarships.
Up to $25,000 will be awarded this spring and includes any South Dakota high school graduate or senior who will be enrolled in any college in the fall of 2025.
“We are excited to be able to award $25,000 to deserving South Dakota high school students for the next step in their education,” said Ty Eschenbaum, founder of the Ty Eschenbaum Foundation. “Our goal at the Foundation is to be a beacon of light and this program does just that, by not only providing these funds, but also by being able to celebrate and honor these students on all that they have accomplished and fought through.”
Eschenbaum started the Ty Eschenbaum Foundation with the original cause of supporting youth cancer survivors in their pursuit of higher education. Today, Survivor Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis to graduating South Dakota high school seniors and past South Dakota high school graduates, that have been diagnosed with any type of cancer, at any point, and are attending any post-secondary education of their choosing. The Foundation is the only known source of funds directly available to survivors in the state of South Dakota. Since the Survivor Scholarship Program began, the Ty Eschenbaum Foundation has awarded $52,250 to survivors.
