The Friends of the Baxter County Library is continuing its annual mission to promote higher education among Baxter County residents. Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 scholarship program.
The number and value of scholarships awarded will depend on the success of fundraising efforts, including donations, book sales, silent auctions, and other initiatives. In 2024, the program awarded $1,500 for first place, $1,000 for second place, and two $750 scholarships for third place.
The scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors in Baxter County who have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and have been accepted by an accredited institution of higher education.
Applicants must complete a scholarship application and submit a 1,200- to 2,000-word essay on a specified topic. Applications are due by April 1 and must be submitted to the Donald W. Reynolds Library serving Baxter County.
