HOUSTON — For the past 37 years, the Greater Houston Frontiers Club (GHFC) has honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by providing scholarships to deserving high school seniors in need of financial assistance for college. Through their dedication, the GHFC has raised over $1.5 million, offering hundreds of students the opportunity to pursue higher education and achieve their dreams.
As Your Education Station, KHOU 11 is a proud partner in this mission and has been supporting the GHFC’s scholarship initiative for over a decade. This ongoing collaboration between GHFC and KHOU 11 demonstrates a shared commitment to creating opportunities for the future leaders of Houston.
You too can play a vital role in shaping the future of these students. From now until January 31st, donations are being accepted to support the MLK Scholarship Fund. Your contribution will directly help provide scholarships to outstanding high school seniors who are eager to continue their education but face financial barriers. On Wednesday, January 29, KHOU 11 will be hosting a telethon to encourage donations for this great cause. From 4-7pm, you can call in and make a monetary gift to help a child attend college.
