The South Carolina Association of Counties and Board of Director’s Scholarship program are awarding high school seniors a $5,000 scholarship toward a college degree.
“The SCAC Scholarship program is another way our organization demonstrates its commitment to education and gives back to the counties we serve,” said SCAC President William Robinson, who also serves as chairman of Allendale County Council.
Over the course of four years, The Board of Directors will award a $5,000 scholarship to 2025 graduating high school seniors from 12 select counties, with Beaufort County making the list. This is the first year that the SCAC is awarding these scholarships.

This is the first year that the South Carolina Association of Counties is awarding these scholarships to graduating high school seniors.
“There is no order to the counties selected, it is all randomized and we are planning to do this every year until all 46 counties in South Carolina are reached,” said SCAC Communications Director, Mary-Kathryn Craft.
This is also the first year that the Association is awarding scholarships of this value, as they recently increased their award amount to emphasize their commitment to education.
“It is an honor to recognize future leaders, who excel academically and work to improve our communities. We are especially excited to have expanded the program recently to reach more students and offer the opportunity to all 46 counties in the next four years,” Robinson said.
