LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A Lexington gun violence prevention group is offering up to $10,000 to students affected by gun violence.
One Lexington announced the scholarship program on its Facebook page Wednesday.
The group says it will pay up to $10,000 for skills or trade school tuition for Fayette County residents aged between 18-24 years old.
Eligible applicants must be former or current FCPS students who are either affected by gun violence or have a biological parent who is currently incarcerated.
Students may not actively be employed or in a post-secondary program.
The scholarship is a one-time scholarship awarded based on academic success and achievements.
