NEW ORLEANS — The Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) launched a dedicated webpage to give students, families, and stakeholders with the latest information on how the pause in federal aid could affect LOSFA scholarships and grant programs.
The webpage will be a go-to source for updates, guidance, and resources on how the federal aid pause may impact LOSFA’s scholarship and grant programs.
On Tuesday a federal judge temporarily blocked the pause of federal assistance programs.
LOSFA said the pause does not affect state-funded scholarship and grant programs, including TOPS the M.J. Foster Promise Program. Additionally, the U.S. Department of Education has confirmed that Pell Grants and direct federal student loans will remain unaffected.
“However, other programs, such as the John R. Justice (JRJ) Grant Program, will experience impacts. We will continue to provide updates on our website and social media platforms as new information becomes available.”
