Applications are now open for the Northwest Iowa League of Cities 2025 scholarship. The program is available to any high school senior who plans to pursue post-secondary education or training in municipal services and also resides in one of the organization’s 120 member communities in its 27-county region, including Calhoun, Carroll, Crawford, Greene, and Sac Counties. Examples of eligible career fields are public administrators, water/wastewater operators, law enforcement, firefighters, emergency medical services, public engineers, and city attorneys. Applications are available by visiting your local city hall or contacting Northwest Iowa League of Cities Secretary/Treasurer Angela Duitsman by emailing angela@fondaiowa.com. Completed forms are due by Tuesday, April 15. The organization intends to award up to five $1,000 scholarships to selected applicants. Funding for the League’s scholarship program is generated through private and commercial fundraising.
