NICEVILLE — The Okaloosa County School District is looking to help the next generation of educators.
On Tuesday, the dstrict announced that Superintendent Marcus Chambers is offering two students in Okaloosa County the opportunity to receive Florida Prepaid two-year scholarships.
To qualify for the scholarships, students must meet several requirements, such as being seniors in a public high school in Okaloosa County, meeting the criteria to enroll in a Florida Prepaid College Plan and wanting to pursue a career in education.
Students who want to apply can do so until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 21.
During the application process, students must complete a digital application and submit their current transcripts, SAT, ACT or PSAT scores and a completed MIS 4217 form that outlines community service hours.

Students must also submit a video essay, no longer than two minutes, explaining why they want to pursue a career in education. Those videos must be formatted in MP4, M4v, MOV or WMV.
The application must be completed and submitted in one session, so applicants are advised to have all necessary documents ready before they start. Failure to adhere to the outlined instructions and submit all required documentation by the deadline will result in disqualification.
