HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital is offering multiple scholarship opportunities for future medical professionals.
For each scholarship, eligible applicants must be residents of or attending school in Hawaii County.
The hospital’s medical staff offers two $1,000 scholarships. Applicants must be Hawaii County residents who demonstrate financial need and are currently enrolled in a program on track to become a health care professional.
The Hawaii Emergency Physicians Associated (HEPA) awards a $3,000 scholarship to a graduating high school student in need of financial assistance in order to attend college. Applicants must attend school within the service area of Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital.
Lastly, the Peggy Dineen-Orsini Scholarship offers $2,000 to a resident of Hawaii County who is enrolled or accepted in a National League of Nursing accredited program in the United States.
The scholarship is in memory of Peggy Dineen-Orsini, who was a nurse at Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital from 1996 to 2004, beloved for her compassion for her patients and coworkers.
Applications are due April 30.
