Five New Jersey leaders in public service, business and healthcare will be honored at the upcoming RIPPAC Gala, which raises funds for student scholarships and civic programming presented by the Rowan Institute for Public Policy & Citizenship (RIPPAC).
NJBIA President & CEO Michele Siekerka will receive the Visionary Award at the gala, which takes place at 6 p.m., Friday, March 14 at the Westin Hotel in Mount Laurel.
Honorees also include New Jersey Senate President Nicholas P. Scutari (D-22) and Assembly Republican Leader John DiMaio (R-23), who will both be honored with RIPPAC’s Leadership Award. Robin A. Walton, senior VP of external affairs and chief philanthropy officer for Inspira Health, will accept the Community Service Award. Joris Veldhoven, CEO of Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind, will receive the Corporate Neighbor Award.
“Too many people think politics is frustrating, dysfunctional, confusing and inhospitable. RIPPAC is the response,” said Ben Dworkin, founding director of RIPPAC. “We bring together students and people across New Jersey to upgrade their skills as citizens.
“We are engaged in workforce development for democracy,” Dworkin said. “This gala will help us dramatically improve our efforts.”
