WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Fourteen high school seniors from across Kansas will have their college tuition paid for over the next four years. They’re part of a group recognized annually by the Rudd Foundation that, since 2018, has awarded scholarships to high school seniors in the state to attend Wichita State, Emporia State, Fort Hays or Kansas State.
This year, the eighth group of students chosen will receive a full-ride scholarship that includes tuition, fees, and on-campus housing. All eight will attend Wichita State.
“We’re eight years into the Rudd Foundation and Wichita State partnership, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome the newest class of Shocker Rudd scholars this fall,” said Bobby Gandu, Associate Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management, Applied Learning and Director of Admissions for Wichita State University. “This scholarship is more than just financial support. It’s an opportunity for these students to thrive in a community built on mentorship, coaching, and a network of lifelong connections.”
The total number of Rudd scholars studying at Wichita State this fall is now 62, the most out of any Rudd Scholar partner university. Since its founding, the Rudd Foundation has awarded full-ride scholarships to 263 Kansas students. The awards come out to a total investment of $10.2 million.
