The Sarnia Community Foundation has announced three scholarships that are open for applications: The Norma and Don Moore Scholarship; the Society of St Vincent de Paul / J&JY Trades Scholarship; and the Joanne Klauke-Labelle Scholarship.
“In these very hard economic times, every dollar counts,” said executive director Mike Baron. “These scholarships will help students with funding for furthering their respective education and lowering day-to-day expenses.”
Students interested in applying for any of the scholarships can visit the Sarnia Community Foundation website www.sarniacommunityfoundation.ca or call the office at 519 332-2588.
More information on each scholarship is listed below:
Norma and Don Moore Scholarship – The Norma and Don Moore Scholarship supports doctors or nurse practitioners enrolled in a program leading to a license to practice in Ontario. Preference will be given to candidates who have indicated an intent to practice in Lambton County (the last day to apply is March 1, 2024).
Society of St Vincent de Paul / J&JY Trades Scholarship – This scholarship supports students entering or continuing a trade education. The deadline for applications is 4 p.m. on March 31 each year.
Joanne Klauke-Labelle – This scholarship has been awarded to a student who is entering a post-secondary education program focused on the performing arts (drama, music, or dance) or visual arts (the last day to apply is April 15, 2024).
