The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, with its headquarters located in the City of New York, is an Eparchy of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, The mission of the Archdiocese is to proclaim the Gospel of Christ, to teach and spread the Orthodox Christian faith, to energize, cultivate, and guide the life of the Church in the United States of America according to the Orthodox Christian faith and tradition.
The Orthodox Observer places the Church in the context of the current world we live in through a diverse and informative experience — offering participants meaningful exchange with the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, her ministries, and affiliates. The experience provides the faithful significant content to listen to, watch, and read; in order to lead, grow, and inspire.
His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros (Lambriniadis) of America was born in 1967 in Bakirköy, Istanbul.
What is Orthodox Christianity? The Orthodox Christian Faith proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the teachings of the Apostles, and the tradition and life of the living Church worldwide through worship, communion, witness, and service.
The Archdiocese responds to the spiritual needs of the Greek Orthodox Christian Faithful through National Ministries, providing programs and services to your local parishes, Metropolises, and you. Scholarships from PeopleCert to students from Constantinople, Imbros and Tenedos, for Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies
PeopleCert announces the 3rd Cycle of the Scholarship Program “Honoring our Constantinopolitan Teachers” in memory of distinguished professors of the Greek Diaspora.
The program is implemented with the assistance of the Ecumenical Federation of Constantinopolitans (O.O.M.K.) and aims to provide practical support to the Greek diaspora in Constantinople, offering excellent young people the opportunity to continue their postgraduate studies, anywhere in the world.
The scholarships are annual – up to €8,000 each – and include the current academic year 2024-2025 or the following one, provided that the candidates have been accepted to a study program.
Application procedure:
Interested candidates can submit their application along with the necessary supporting documents using the form below until March 15, 2025.
After evaluating the applications, interviews will be held with the most successful candidates, within April 2025.
The results will be announced on this website by April 30, 2025.
Requirements:
Up to second-generation postgraduate students or doctoral candidates originating from Istanbul, Imbros and Tenedos are eligible, regardless of place of study and residence.
The application must be accompanied by all necessary supporting documents, as indicated in the application, within the deadline. The sending of all documents must be completed before the candidates are called for an interview and no later than March 15, 2025.
Candidates must have completed their undergraduate studies and are pursuing their postgraduate studies or doctorate, or have been accepted to a corresponding program. Candidates who have also completed their postgraduate or doctorate studies will be automatically disqualified.
