Each year, The Classic Center Cultural Foundation awards over $60,000 in grants and scholarships in performing arts, visual arts and hospitality education. With deadlines approaching, here are some scholarships and funds the foundation offers.
Every year, The Classic Center Cultural Foundation gives $30,000 in annual scholarships to high school students who plan to pursue careers in visual arts and performing arts. Those interested will submit an application and take part in an audition process. Those who receive the performing arts and visual arts scholarships will be awarded $2,000 each and will earn their high school program a $500 award.
Deadline to apply: March 7 at 5 p.m.
The Classic Center Cultural Foundation has raised $25,000 through the Paul T. Martin Hospitality Education Fund for those interested in a career in hospitality, event, music or sports management. Applications are open to anyone currently enrolled in hospitality, event, music or sports management degree programs at the University of Georgia or Athens Technical College, and graduating seniors at Athens Community Career Academy are also encouraged to apply. The deadline for this scholarship is Feb. 14 at 5 p.m.

To celebrate the career of Paul M. Cramer, president and CEO of The Classic Center, the center has dedicated a scholarship in Cramer’s name for several of the center’s employees to begin or continue their education in music, sports, hospitality or event management.

The University of Georgia Club Archery team, founded in 2017, has become a hub of success, camaraderie and inclusion, welcoming archers of all skill levels and backgrounds.
On Thursday, Jan. 16, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., the LHAC held an Artist Reception to celebrate the opening of two new exhibitions: “Twist,” works by Carol John, and “Distillations,” works by Patti Roberts-Pizzuto and Johntimothy Pizzuto. A third exhibit titled “fast tracks, ski masks, and plaid slacks” by Tim Root was also on display at the reception.
