As high school seniors across Middle Georgia prepare to walk across the stage in coming months, many are turning their attention to college.
Several local nonprofit organizations are lending a hand to rising college freshmen with opportunities to ease the financial burden of higher education.
From local community groups to state-level programs, here is a list of scholarships available for all ages.
Community Foundation of Central Georgia
Amount: Varies
Deadline: All applications are due Feb. 28 at noon
The Community Foundation of Central Georgia has over 40 scholarships established by donors for students of varying ages who are pursuing a college education. Each scholarship fund has its own individual criteria, and applicants may be eligible for more than one, according to the organization’s website. Robert J. Stevenson Memorial and David L. Dillard Memorial Awards
Amount: $1,000 or more
Deadline: March 1 at 11:59 p.m.
Applications for the Epsilon Beta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s scholarship competition are currently open to high school graduates and college freshmen in Bibb and Jones counties. Visit the organization’s website for more eligibility requirements.
The Scholarship Award
Amount: $2,000
Deadline: March 1 at 11:59 p.m.
The Mid South Community Federal Credit Union has partnered with the Epsilon Beta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. to offer an annual scholarship of $2,000, which will be disbursed in four annual installments of $500.

2025 Sharon Potts Memorial Scholarship

Two $4,000 scholarships are only available for seniors attending Northside High School in Warner Robins. Applicants must receive their guidance counselor’s endorsement on their applications, indicating that they are qualified for the scholarship program. 2025 Virgil Adams, Sam Hart, & Billy Pitts Endowed Scholarship

High school seniors in Middle Georgia who plan to attend a two-year or four-year college this upcoming fall semester are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Finalists will be awarded scholarships from the 100 Black Men Scholarship Fund. Visit the organization’s website for more information.
The Frank and Betty Gooden Estes Scholarship

Epsilon Tau Zeta Academic Scholarship
Amount: Minimum of $500, which may be renewed annually.

The Epsilon Tau Zeta Graduate Chapter of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. awards at least five graduating high school seniors every year. Visit the organization’s website to find out more information on how to apply.
Dr. D.T. Walton Jr. Omega Scholarship

The Mega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Lambda Phi Chapter will disburse funds to selected applicants during the fall semester that immediately follows the students’ graduation from high school.

The Sisters Through Service In Action Inc is giving away scholarships to selected graduating high school seniors from the Bibb, Jones, Twiggs, Houston, Crawford, Monroe, Peach and Wilkinson counties. Macon-Middle Georgia National Panhellenic Council Scholarship

The MMG-NPHC is giving away two $500 scholarships to deserving graduating high school seniors. College-bound high school seniors residing and enrolled in schools within the Macon-Bibb and Monroe County School District are eligible to apply. The Master Gardeners of Central Georgia High School Academic Scholarship
