The Long Island Soccer Referee Association awarded six scholarships to six teenagers at the Huntington Hilton in Melville, N.Y. on June 13.

The Long Island Soccer Referee Association awarded six scholarships to six teenagers at the Huntington Hilton in Melville, N.Y. on June 13.
The scholarship committee selects the recipients based on essay, resumé, recommendations and grades.

Elections were also held at the June LISRA meeting with a slate of 12 candidates vying for seven director positions. Scott Abel (technology), Marty Foeppel (recruitment), Al Giorgianni (finance), Tom Murphy (webmaster), Eugene O’Neill (legal counsel) and John Sengelaub (instruction) wer re-elected with Neal Smith being the lone challenger to be elected to a seat on the board.
