About Steven Weinstein
Steven Weinstein began skiing in 1960 when his family started making regular trips from New Jersey to Whiteface Mountain. His passion for skiing and dedication to the sport led him to volunteer during the 1980 Winter Olympics at Whiteface and later to join the Whiteface Mountain Volunteer Ski Patrol in 1981. On Dec. 30, 1984, Steven suffered a tragic skiing accident during an early morning run before the lifts opened.
To honor Steven’s memory, the Steven Weinstein Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established to provide critical support to patrollers as they pursue advanced medical training.
