TPW awards $29,000 in scholarships to Tangipahoa women | News – an17.com

The Tangipahoa Professional Women’s Organization held their 2024 Scholarship Awards Luncheon, on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Oak Knoll Country Club, where 29 scholarships were awarded to deserving Tangipahoa Parish women who are pursuing higher education and advancement in the workforce.
Tiffany Chavers-Edwards, 1st Vice President – Programs opened the awards ceremony. She announced that she has co-chaired the Women Mean Business Conference, along with her co-chair, Tanya Nel, for the past three years! “Because of the generosity of our Tangipahoa Parish Community, we were able to raise approximately $30,000, which allowed us to award $29,000 in scholarships to women in and from Tangipahoa Parish who are seeking educational opportunities.”
She introduced Lisa Hughes, TPW President, and Teresa Landry, President-Elect and scholarship committee chair, to introduce the scholarship recipients and award their scholarships.
The 29 women who received $1,000 scholarships toward their education are:
