The Trinidad Civic Club has announced that the applications to apply for its academic and job training scholarships are now available.
The application submission period starts Saturday, Feb. 1, and runs until March 205. These two scholarships are for students living in the Zip codes of Orick, Trinidad or McKinleyville and graduating in June from a Humboldt County area high school. The winners of these two scholarships will each receive a $2,000 award.
The Trinidad Civic Club Academic Scholarship is for students who are in the upper 20% of their class, are active in service and leadership in their school and/or community and who have applied to a four year college or university.
The Trinidad Civic Club Job Training Scholarship is meant for students who have applied to a six-month to two-year program at a job training school or community college as preparation for securing a well-paid job in a short period of time. Examples of such programs are in the fields of auto technology, firefighting, early childhood education, computer information systems, cosmetology, drafting, culinary arts, business, welding, computer programming, health care and others.
