FORT SMITH, Ark. — The University of Arkansas Fort Smith (UAFS) has launched a scholarship program designed to eliminate financial barriers for students. 
The UAFS Tuition and Mandatory Fee Guarantee program promises to pay tuition and mandatory fees after all grants, scholarships, and other financial aid are applied to eligible students. 
“Many of our students are first-generation and face significant financial barriers,” said Brooke Magallanes, associate vice chancellor for enrollment management and director of admissions. “Scholarships like this make higher education not just a possibility, but a reality.”

Eligible applicants must: 
Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Arkansas Division of Higher Education Scholarship must be submitted by the university admissions deadline. UAFS said that those who already meet all of the requirements and are admitted to the university are automatically considered for the program.
