The Union County Master Gardeners would like to announce their 2025 Scholarship that will be awarded to a Union County resident who is planning advanced study in the field of plant science. This is the fifteenth annual scholarship. Applications are now available on the Master Gardener web site at: union.osu.edu Scroll down to Master Gardener Volunteers on the left. One $2000 scholarship will be awarded to a resident from Union County. The applicant must be pursuing a plant science degree at a college, university or technical school in 2025. Plant science includes studies in areas such as agronomy, botany, horticulture, forestry or landscaping.
Information requested of the applicants includes activities or jobs involving the plant sciences, awards received or achievements, volunteer service activities, a brief statement about the importance of plant science and how you want to be involved in it in the future, intended course of study and how you will use it, transcript of grades, and two letters of recommendation.
Applications are due by close of business (4:30 p.m.) on March 26, 2025, at the OSU Extension Office in the Union County Agricultural Center located at 18000 St. Route 4, Suite E., Marysville 43040.
All guidance counselors of Union County High Schools and Career Centers that Union County students attend have been notified of the scholarship availability. Union County residents currently pursuing an advanced degree and home schooled students may also apply.
The Union County Master Gardeners is a not-for-profit organization, promoting environmentally sound, research-based gardening practices primarily to the residents of Union County under the auspices of The Ohio State University Extension of Union County.
