Since 2015, Vista Outdoor has awarded 117 Learning for Life Scholarships totaling $117,000 to assist children of Vista Outdoor employees in their pursuit of post-high school education. This year the firm—parent company of 41 renowned brands that includes Federal, Remington ammunition, CCI, and many more in the firearm industry—awarded 20 $1,000 Learning for Life Scholarships.
The Learning for Life Scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America, a designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards were granted to eligible recipients based on academic record, leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances and an online recommendation. Selections were made without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, disability, financial need or national origin.
The Learning for Life Scholarship program was designed to assist children of Vista Outdoor employees in their pursuit of post-high school education, whether they attend a vocational-technical school, junior college or four-year college or university. The 20 students were children of employees from several Vista Outdoor locations.
