The William Floyd High School Soundsations a cappella group, under the direction of Michelle Seifert, had the honor of performing at the first annual Scholarship Gala held by the Dr. Calabro Lodge #3011 Order of the Sons and Daughters of Italy! The event took place at Sunset Harbor in East Patchogue and was described as “a celebration of life and learning” in which Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Dan Panico and Suffolk County Legislator Jim Mazzarella were honored for their service to the community.
The Soundsations opened the event by serenading all of the attendees during the cocktail hour, with a set of songs that included “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” and “Sh-Boom (Life Could Be a Dream)." The Soundsations also started the ceremony with their rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
After the Soundsations’ impressed with their musical stylings, William Floyd High School received even more great news. It was announced during the ceremony that the Dr. Calabro Scholarship Gala would be providing 18 scholarships to WFHS seniors and two scholarships to Queen of the Apostles school in Center Moriches! Thank you to the Dr. Calabro Lodge #3011 Order of the Sons and Daughters of Italy for their generosity and congratulations to Supervisor Panico and Legislator Mazzarella on this recognition!
