MADISON (WKOW) — Women in Focus hosted its ‘I Have a Dream’ ball and scholarship auction Saturday night.
Women in Focus is an organization aiming to erase all education barriers for students of color.
Each year since 2021, the organization has collected donated items such as gift cards, baskets, tickets to events, trips, jewelry and more to auction off. All proceeds will benefit the organization’s scholarship fund.
“This event is important because it’s a way to give access to students that may not otherwise have access to funds needed for their higher education,” said Women in Focus President Kendra Gassner.
Organizers said the timing of this event highlights their mission of living out the values expressed by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
