The Saegertown High School (SHS) Alumni Association has named winners of its annual scholarships that were announced at the school’s Senior Awards Assembly held on June 6 in the school’s auditorium.
The eight scholarship winners will be honored at the 14th annual Alumni Association Banquet to be held Aug. 3 at The Country Club of Meadville. Social hour begins at 5 p.m. with a buffet dinner at 6:30.
Also honored will be Travis Peters (Slippery Rock University), recipient of the SHS Class of 1966’s $1,000 scholarship.
Guest speaker with be Jack Chow, a 1978 graduate of Saegertown and currently a resident of the Washington, D.C., area. He now serves as a distinguished service professor at Carnegie Mellon University Heinz College and will speak about “With Grit and Grace: How Saegertown Impacts Our World.”
All Saegertown High alumni are annually mailed a combined reservation/membership form to this banquet which also provides the opportunity to make a scholarship donation. Family members and friends are also invited to join them.
